Summer's catch

For some strange reason, bugs abound in summer. It's hot, and it's humid, and they love marzipan.

They enter our sacred space, looking for trouble, and get themselves killed. They crawl to our windowsill, and die there. You would think they would come at night, attracted by the light. Mosquitoes and moths mainly.

Do not be mistaken. There are strange bugs out there that roam the streets during day time.
Do not be mistaken. We have smashed bugs you have never dream of (or seen in Starship Troopers).

Those that come to die peacefully on our window sill, have been left to die in peace. Whether they were already dying, or whether the insect-spray molecules lingering on the window sill helped them leave this world, we know not.

Those that insist in pestering us, got what they were looking for. It has been established that smashing a bug against the wall with a dirty sole is not a good idea. Either the bug, the sole, or both, leave a mark on the otherwise pristine white paint.

We are trained in killing with cloth (the "silk method"), one flip-flop (the "lonely method") and two flip-flops (the "sandwich method"). If you need advice on how to get rid of them without making a mess, seek professional advice.
